
The first thing you notice about Allan Girod is his broad, beaming smile and his authentic eye connection with the audience. The lights don’t go down, we remain present with the artist as he takes us along the journey.

Get Around Me is a personal account of her completely unexpected life as an Aussie Rules footballer and how she basically fell into Team Canada at the International Cup held in Melbourne.

The Pride is a striking production that speaks to us all about engaging in an authentic life and not playing at fancy dress.

Cleverly incorporating grabs of soundtracks like Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get it On and Am I Not Pretty Enough, the “ladies” progressed through the highs and mostly lows of partner seeking advice.

This particular production does not achieve the level of success that the writing – or indeed the festival – deserves. I wish they had entrusted it to someone else to stage.

This presentation of the rock opera does not especially evoke the Summer of Love nor tonally invite its audience to tune in, turn on or drop out, and as a result the undisguised Christian thrust of the piece comes across all the more clearly.

This was a promising theatre workshop which needed to sharpen up and needed a stronger directorial hand.
