
If only The Bleeding Heart were a permanent venue. A subterranean political satire bar would surely be welcome in Canberra – a city where politicians could provide it with no end of material.

Lang’s relaxed attitude only adds to the effect when he unleashes one of his guitar solos, displaying power and accuracy more reminiscent of a classical virtuoso than a laid-back folk singer.

If you like Tupperware parties with the gals, sipping some Chardy and having a laugh at one’s wobbly bits, then you’ll love the comedy skit-set of Busting Out.

I can’t tell you what happens at the end of this play, but even if this weren’t such a strong production, the twist would be worth the price of admission.

Together, this five-piece work as an extremely cohesive unit, sailing through songs that sound as if they should be technically challenging.
