What's On

Tropfest

Tropfest, supported by foundation partner CGU Insurance, is the world’s largest short film festival. The FREE annual festival moved to Parramatta Park in 2016. Every year, Tropfest selects 16 finalist films from hundreds of entrants from all walks of life, combining the punchiness of the content we scroll through daily with the visual splendour of the big screen. It’s a great chance to pack a picnic and a few cold ones (Tropfest is BYO!), and gather the loved ones for a night of phenomenal short flicks, plus live entertainment under the stars.

The script is based on a true story, although this dramatisation can feel somewhat contrived, with important assertions not interrogated, and credibility stretched as a result.
  • The Glass Menagerie | Melbourne Theatre Company
This Glass Menagerie is top shelf, and while blessed with an extraordinary cast and the highest of production values, it will not meet with everyone’s measure of how this play should be staged.

The First Murder | Pinchgut Opera
In the care of Pinchgut Opera’s director, Erin Helyard, this music, formulaic as it indeed is in some respects, sprang off the page into an experience rich in emotions.
