The Fab Nobs are a highly regarded non professional theatre company operating in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. This weekend they arrived at their Fab Factory to rehearse their latest production, only to discover theives had stolen over $20,000 worth of equipment. The robbery has put not only the production under threat, but the company itself.
Undeterred by the theft, the Fab Nobs are determined to keep the company afloat and in record time have organised a fund raiser -
WE WERE ROBBED – A CONCERT.
To the Theatre Community,
This weekend, we arrived at our beloved Fab Factory only to discover that vandals had broken in and taken anything of worth. Nine microphones worth over $1,000 each were taken as well as all our power tools, amplifiers, alcohol, sound and lighting boards. Basically we have lost over $20,000 worth of equipment which we had accumulated in our nine years of operation.
Whilst the theatre community has been wonderful and very quick to jump to support our cause, we need help in raising money for the long term. Without equipment we will cease to be able to provide the quality productions you deserve. With only six weeks to Spelling Bee we are in desperate need of funds.
It has always been a great and rewarding challenge creating theatre for the community on a tight budget, but this time the challenge is one of the biggest we face.
Many of you have enquired as to how you can help… so, we have very quickly organised a fund raising event “WE WERE ROBBED – A CONCERT” to be held on Sunday 5th June featuring some of Fab Nobs favourites, singing past, present and future show stopping numbers + a little bit more.
Our theatre friends have donated some fantastic items for us to auction off during the night!!

About Fab Nobs –Fab Nobs Theatre Inc presents three productions each year in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Incorporated in 2002, Fab Nobs Theatre has now established a well regarded name in the non professional theatre world, having received several Guild and Lyrebird nominations and awards.
From a very meager start with no assets and no financial backing Fab Nobs are now financially very secure, this being thanks initially to those who gave many hours of their time and subsequently to the success of the amazing shows which we have produced.
The aim of Fab Nobs is to produce excellent shows whilst still maintaining the joy of theatre. We hear so many people come away from our shows saying how much they enjoy the factory experience and although we don’t have a luxurious theatre we do have a friendly atmosphere with a great bar.
