The Theatre Works Board of Directors has announced the appointments of Daniel Clarke as Creative Producer/CEO and Angela Pamic as General Manager.

Daniel has worked in Australia, the UK and US as a theatre director, producer and artistic director. Most recently he produced the sold-out Australian tour of New York Act, The Wau Wau Sisters. In 2010 he directed the hit My Name is Rachel Corrie at fortyfivedownstairs and The Event as part of the Melbourne Fringe. Daniel successfully artistically directed Adelaide’s queer arts and cultural festival, Feast, in 2007 and 2008 winning the prestigious Ruby Award for Community Impact.  Whilst at Feast Daniel brought Melbourne audiences Taylor Mac, Lea DeLaria, The Wau Wau Sisters, Topping & Butch and Feast in Four Courses as part of midsumma.

Daniel has directed and produced dozens of high quality works both in Australia and in the United Kingdom and has worked with some of the finest companies and arts groups including Leicester Haymarket Theatre Company, The Point Eastleigh, Zip Antics Theatre, The Bakehouse, Splash Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, Playbox Theatre, Brink Productions, D Faces of Youth Arts, Urban Myth Theatre of Youth, Carclew Youth Arts Centre and Jumbuck Youth Theatre. Daniel was awarded the prestigious Dame Ruby Litchfield Scholarship for Performing Arts in 2002, which enabled him to work at The Bush Theatre, London. Daniel has also been awarded a Centenary Medal for services to the community through theatre.

Daniel says “This is a really exciting time to join the team at Theatre Works. I look forward to developing Theatre Works’ artistic program, increasing its profile locally, nationally and internationally and supporting independent artists in the creation and presentation of new work”.

Angela Pamic, who has successfully led the organisation as Operations Manager for a number of years, will now work with Daniel as Theatre Works’ General Manager.

Daniel will immediately commence planning the organisation’s program for 2012 and beyond.
