The Arts Centre Chief Executive, Judith Isherwood, today announced UK-based Tim Brinkman has been appointed as the new Executive, Performing Arts.

An experienced visionary, Tim will be responsible for the entire Performing Arts portfolio including Arts Centre Programming; Collections, Research & Exhibitions; Production; Event Management; and the Portfolio’s Business & Administration Services. 

As the former Director of Hall for Cornwall, Cornwall’s premiere large scale theatre, where he oversaw all artistic and ancillary services for the past 10 years, Tim’s career has spanned more than 40 years within the arts industry and earning him a reputation as someone able to turn a venue into an international success story.

“We are very excited that Tim has joined the Arts Centre team. Not only will he be a great asset in his abilities but also his breadth of international experience and his great mentoring talent. Tim has a strong commitment to the arts and has been a major cultural force in UK, instrumental in attracting top national and international acts to the Truro region, delivering great work on a number of community projects and highly skilled in presenting fantastic arts experiences across diverse audiences and diverse performing arts genres,” said Judith Isherwood.

Tim said he was excited by the Arts Centre’s current direction and long term vision to become one of the world’s greatest performing arts centres with huge artistic potential. After his family and he fell in love with Melbourne in 1999 and the local performing arts scene, he is excited to become a part of Melbourne and the Arts Centre.
