Melbourne Fringe is very pleased to announce the appointment of Neal Harvey to the role of Creative Producer, following a rigorous recruitment process across the past six weeks.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Neal to the senior Melbourne Fringe team," says Esther Anatolitis, Melbourne Fringe's CEO. "Neal brings a uniquely creative, intellectual and professional commitment to independent arts practice, and I look forward to seeing that expertise articulated into the Made by Melbourne Fringe program."

Neal Harvey has over ten years experience working with independent artists and the festival and entertainment sector. He has produced award-winning shows for the Melbourne Fringe Festival, the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Brisbane Festival and the Sydney Fringe. Along the way he has worked with circus artists, dancers, musicians and performers in a variety of performance concepts.

Neal is a committed life-long learner and has spent time furthering his study and working in the Higher Education sector.

Like many artsworkers before him, Neal has done the hard yards, working as a stage and production manager and regularly stayed up too late washing dirty costumes.

Neal's career in the arts has seen him dedicate himself to providing new opportunities and avenues for artists to get their work in front of audiences.

"I feel very fortunate to have an opportunity to work with an organisation and a team of individuals that I have the greatest respect for," says Neal. "Melbourne Fringe is an incredibly important part of our cultural landscape, and I can't wait to begin contributing more directly to it."

Neal joins the Melbourne Fringe team from Wednesday, 24th November and will be integral to the development of the 2011 Artist Development program of workshops, one-on-one meetings and salons.

The 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival runs from 21st September - 9th October.
