The Famous Spiegeltent is returning to the Arts Centre’s forecourt from 11 February to 24 April 2011.

The Famous Spiegeltent, which for much of the past decade was a much-loved feature of the Arts Centre forecourt, will return to Melbourne with an exciting new program of cutting-edge cabaret, music, comedy and circus programmed by the Arts Centre.

Offering a range of ticketed shows, The Famous Spiegeltent will run for 11 weeks from 11 February and will also introduce visitors to a series of themed outdoor spaces designed to provide a relaxed social atmosphere in the shadow of the iconic spire.

“Late summer into autumn is the best time to experience the unique Melbourne entertainment style and the Arts Centre forecourt and the activities we’ve scheduled will mean this will be the place to be this summer,” says Judith Isherwood, Arts Centre Chief Executive.

“There are many great memories from previous visits of The Famous Spiegeltent to St Kilda Rd, and we’re looking to working with Spiegeltent owner David Bates and taking the experience to a whole new level, with a combination of exciting performance and great activity spaces.”

Program details will be announced in November.
