From 22 September until 10 October 2010 Melbourne Fringe will once again turn the spotlight on this city's independent arts community. Each year an extraordinary array of emerging and established artists come together to present Melbourne's most intriguing and enticing independent art to audiences.

"Melbourne Fringe is a highly sophisticated independent arts festival, showcasing the very best Melbourne has to offer: contemporary ideas, unique ways of thinking and unexpected surprises", says Fringe Creative Producer, Emily Sexton. This is why we choose to live in Melbourne, and now is your chance to be a part of it!

Artist Registrations to be part of the 2010 Melbourne Fringe Festival open on Monday 24 May and close on Friday 4 June.

The Melbourne Fringe team is here to help you get all the way from a great idea to presenting something extraordinary during the 19 days of the Festival.

"To make a successful Melbourne Fringe show isn't an easy task.  Melbourne audiences are smart, really smart, and they have high expectations.  They will sniff out the curious, the ambitious and the bold, people whose concepts and execution is risky, sophisticated and exciting - artists whose work hints at where we might go as a culture.  So if you want your show to be the one that everyone's talking about come September, give us a call", says Emily Sexton.

Melbourne Fringe provides forums, workshops, one-on-one meetings, a mentoring program and much more.  All of it specifically designed to support emerging and experienced independent artists to present new, intriguing, sophisticated work.

"Melbourne Fringe Festival is dedicated to assisting independent artists through our Artist Development opportunities, enabling artists to make their shows the best they can be.  All our programs are free and should be taken advantage of by every Melbourne Fringe artist.", says Independent Program Coordinator, Beau McCafferty.

As part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival you benefit from our high profile marketing and publicity campaign, our ticketing system and you'll be eligible to win Fringe Awards that are judged by leading industry figures.
