Looking for a place to test your chops? Interested in delivering your material somewhere other than your bedroom? Interested in free drinks at the bar on the night of your performance? Ok, that last one’s a joke.
If you think you’re funny, now’s your chance as registrations open on Friday 2 October for the country’s largest (and funniest) cultural festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
The Festival will take over the city from 24 March –18 April 2010 with audiences flocking to see theatre, stand up, music, visual arts, kids’ shows, and cabaret, all with a humorous bent.
With more than 490,000 people attending Comedy Festival events in 2009, it is now one of the three largest Comedy Festivals in the world along with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival.
