Deckchair is pleased to announce the appointment of Gayle Cargill as General Manager from February 2009.
With an extensive background in the arts Gayle comes to Deckchair after 13 years experience as the Chief Executive Officer of the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra. Gayle is taking over the role from exiting General Manager, Rosemarie Lenzo, who is stepping down after an amazing 20-years with the company in varying capacities.
Chair of Deckchair Theatre Board, Michele Kosky, says ‘Gayle has the perfect combination that makes for a great General Manager; strong management skills and a clear understanding of the complexities of working in the performing arts’.
Chris Bendall, Artistic Director of Deckchair is looking forward to working with Gayle and says that ‘this is a period of great opportunity for Deckchair and Gayle will be instrumental in driving the company forward into this new era. Gayle's significant experience in the industry will be invaluable in ensuring that Deckchair consolidates its role as the home of contemporary theatre in Western Australia.‘

The season kicks off in March with The Lonely Hearts Club by Deckchair Artistic Director Chris Bendall and Vanessa Bates’ critically acclaimed Checklist for an Armed Robber.
