Melbourne-based company Full Dress Productions announced thus week the establishment of a performing arts publishing division, Full Dress Publishing. The company’s first two titles, Ross Mueller’s Construction of the Human Heart and Three Plays by Lally Katz – The Eisteddfod, The Black Swan of Trespass and Smashed, will be launched as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival on Friday, August 22 at an event hosted by Julia Zemiro.

Established by producer and company founder David Frazer, Full Dress Publishing will ensure the work of Australia’s most innovative and progressive playwrights make it to our bookshelves, and in turn are given the opportunity to live on in future productions.

“Despite being the independent theatre capital of Australia, it is surprising that Melbourne didn’t have a publishing house with a specific focus on the performing arts, particularly given the calibre of work produced, and I am very excited to fill this void”, Frazer says. Full Dress Publishing is privileged to have been selected to publish the works of internationally-renowned playwrights Ross Mueller and Lally Katz. Both Ross and Lally represent a generational leap in Australian playwriting, and in publishing these playwrights Full Dress will ensure their work will be performed, read, studied and celebrated for many years to come.

Construction of the Human Heart, accompanied by the Green Room award-nominated (The Pilot Version of) Something to Die For by Ross Mueller, and Three Plays by Lally Katz – The Eisteddfod, The Black Swan of Trespass and Smashed are on sale now at www.fulldressproductions.com.au and will be stocked by Readings at Federation Square for the duration of the Festival.
