Now The Auspicious Arts Incubator 166 Sturt St Southbank presents a forum built to fill the gap between Vital Arts funding and the Theatre practitioners that need it.
Thursday 10TH July 2008
9.00am to 5.00pm
How to develop partnerships with the people who can present your work!
The Theatre Board of the Australia Council has recently made significant changes to the way individual performance projects are funded. One of the major changes is to the New Work – Production category. From this year, artists seeking this type of funding will need to have a Presenting Partner committed to their project before applying. A Presenting Partner is defined as anyone able to provide or raise the resources needed to present the work to the public, and could include (among others) Venues, Festivals, Other Theatre Companies, Local Governments, Museums or Independent Producers.
This new system will no doubt generate a number of issues for Independent artists and Arts organisations alike. In order to easily assist and clarify how the system will work and learn from those who will be closest to the coal-face, the Theatre Board has arranged for a full day seminar to be held on
Thursday 10th July 2008.
The aim of the day is to provide Independent project-based Theatre makers with the skills to secure Presenting Partners for their work.
