Australian Stage is proud to announce the Accelerator Program - a new media partnership initiative designed to assist small to medium Performing Arts companies in the promotion of their work.

Australian Stage went live in April 2007 and has quickly established itself as a major source of Australian Performing Arts information. Beginning life in October 2005 as Melbourne Stage Online, the site was initially established as an artist-run media outlet, to create a voice for small-medium Performing Arts companies – a vibrant and vital sector of the Performing Arts industry that regularly struggles to attract media coverage.

Since then, the small Melbourne team has expanded to include more than 40 reviewers across the country, and in 2007 Australian Stage reviewed over 500 performances – more, we believe, than any other single Australian publication.

Through the Accelerator Program we will provide a number of independent theatre companies with the opportunity to advertise and publicise their projects in a media partnership with Australian Stage. The Accelerator Program is designed to take into account the limited resources of independent theatre companies and offers them an opportunity to enter into a media sponsorship without excessive demands or arduous reporting/acquittal requirements.

The Accelerator Program provides real media support to small-medium Performing Arts companies while providing a first step for small companies in seeking sponsorship.
