So where the pluck will you be on Friday Nov 23 - unleashing your inner rock star or sitting at home dreaming about it?
 
It's the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS - BIGGEST GUITAR BAND IN THE WORLD attempt!
 
It's only two weeks to go to the start of the southern hemisphere's biggest music event -  the first annual Adelaide International Guitar Festival and you can be involved!
 
On Friday 23 November we're going to try to break the official "Guinness Book of Records" number for the "Biggest Guitar Band in the World".
 
Join us on the lawns in Elder Park from 5.30pm (gates open at 4pm) for an open-air concert that features you (and more than 2,000 of your closest friends) all playing the classic rock hit Smoke On The Water. We've got a raft of local celebrities, artists from the Guitar Festival and a few surprise players who you maybe didn't even think could strum a note who will join in an "All-Star" Jam to kick off proceedings.
 
As the afternoon sun sets over the River Torrens get ready to break the record (currently held by India) of 1,730 guitars playing at once. Then let the good times roll as we celebrate smashing the record with the band Special Patrol until 6.40pm.

It's easy to take part, but you do have to register to make sure the Guinness Book of Records folk believe us. Simply print out the registration form and sheet music online at www.adelaideguitarfestival.com.au or collect them from any BASS outlet. Then hand in to any BASS outlet, or post to Biggest Guitar Band Registration, Adelaide Festival Centre, GPO Box 1269, Adelaide SA 5001. If you'd prefer to register on the day, no problem, but it will take time to process the forms so be early to avoid the queue.
 
There are some great Guitar Festival prizes to be won thanks to Allans Music.
 
Remember to download the music for Smoke On The Water from our website. You'll need to bring your acoustic guitar (no amps allowed). The Guinness Book Of Records - Biggest Guitar Band In The World attempt is an alcohol and smoke free event.
