Last night Melbourne’s arts community celebrated the overwhelming success of The Age 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival presenting the cream of the Festival crop with awards in 22 categories.
In addition to 11 program category and excellence awards, Melbourne Fringe is delighted to have bestowed the following professional development awards, which provide the winners with a meaningful contribution to their artistic practice and future work via mentorship, venue support and cash contribution.
The Melbourne Airport “I’m off to Edinburgh” Award for Outstanding Melbourne Newcomer
Thanks to Melbourne Airport this award-winner will have the chance put their skills to the test in front of one of the world’s largest arts audiences – with flights and accommodation to the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Melbourne International Arts Festival Award
Presented to an outstanding artist / creative team in their chosen discipline, the winner of the MIAF Award will be granted maximum exposure to the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival and a mentorship with the Artistic Director, Kristy Edmunds.

VicHealth Community Cultural Development Award
Providing the opportunity for CCD work to be judged on its quality of outcome and process, the winner of this award will receive $3,500 cash towards purchase of equipment.
