Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2008 Registrations Open

So you think you’re funny…

Got a few gags up your sleeve that you think could match the likes of Dave Hughes, Daniel Kitson, or the Chaser boys?

Well, now is your chance as registrations open on Monday 1 October for the country’s largest (and funniest) cultural festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The Festival will take over the city from 19 March –13 April 2008 with audiences flocking to see theatre, stand up, music, visual arts, kids’ shows, and cabaret, all with a humorous bent.

More than 483,000 people attended Comedy Festival events in 2007 – up 16% on 2006, outstripping attendances at Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Grand Prix. It is now one of the three largest Comedy Festivals in the world along with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival.
