The Board of Adelaide Fringe Inc. today announced the contracts of Fringe Director Christie Anthoney and CEO Sandy Verschoor have both been renewed and extended, seeing them remain at the helm of the organisation to 2010.

In addition, The Chair of the Board Judy Potter also announced three new appointments to the Fringe Board; Ex South Australian Tourism Commission CEO Bill Spurr, Associate Director of State Theatre Company of South Australia Michael Hill and Chief Financial Officer of Minter Ellison Lawyers Craig Raneberg.

They join fellow Board members Judy Potter (Chair), John Chataway (Deputy), Jane Ferguson, John Haren, Greg King, Manon Nolan and Kym Winter-Dewhirst.

“At a time when the event is enjoying a huge period of growth and success, I am delighted to announce the extension of Christie and Sandy’s contracts with the Adelaide Fringe. Their continued artistic and business management ensures future stability and strategic direction for the now annual event,” said Ms Potter.

“It will also see them at the helm of the organisation for the Fringe’s 50th anniversary celebrations in 2010, a key milestone for the city of Adelaide and for the Fringe itself.”

“I also welcome our three new Board members. I am confident that each will bring with them their own industry expertise from three vastly different areas, all crucial to the sound operation of Adelaide Fringe Inc,” she said.

Principal Partner of the Fringe BankSA Managing Director Rob Chapman said the bank was thrilled the Fringe had secured such outstanding talent and two integral players in the success of the first annual Fringe.

"Our support is locked in until at least 2010, so, in addition to financial security, the Fringe now has consistent leadership and two exceptional creative minds in Sandy and Christie. We look forward to working with them to carry the event forward, generate some real traction and continue to build on the success of this world class event."
