The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Frazer Hughes as Director of Development taking up the position on Monday 9 July.

MSO’s Managing Director Trevor Green said “it is a great pleasure to welcome Frazer as the Orchestra’s new Director of Development. These are exciting and challenging times for the MSO, however his appointment will strengthen and expand our presence in the corporate and philanthropic sectors. Frazer brings a vast amount of diverse experience from sport to major corporate organisations.”

“I’m thrilled to welcome him to a strong and dynamic MSO team as we enthusiastically embrace the challenges that face orchestras in the 21st century.”


Frazer has 20 years experience in commercial operations and development, with companies as diverse as IBM, Mattel, the AFL and the Melbourne Football Club.

Having recently returned from a seven-year stint in London, Frazer has been working at the Melbourne Football Club in a consultancy capacity across sponsorship and marketing initiatives. Frazer Hughes said “I am very excited about working with such an excellent senior management team and world-recognised orchestra. Music and the arts, along with sport, has always been one of my major passions and the MSO has such a fine history and tradition. It is truly wonderful to see the breadth and scope of the MSO’s offering, from Classic Kids to its flagship Master Series.“

Frazer is married to Fiona, Head of Planning at M&C Saatchi, they have two little boys and live in Malvern.
