The Physical TV Company’s multi-award-winning dance feature film, Thursday’s Fictions (directed and choreographed by Richard James Allen), will have its New York premiere at the renowned Dance on Camera Festival in New York City on Thursday January 11 at 7pm in the Maya Deren Theatre, Anthology Film Archives, 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street.

Variously described as “wildly inventive and highly entertaining”, “sweeping and sensual”, “unique” and “mesmerizing”, and “singular in its vision to create a full length dance film that is an amalgam of dance, music and drama”, Thursday’s Fictions has been winning awards and screening at festivals around the world, and the creative team behind the film is very pleased to be bringing it to New York.

Karen Pearlman, Producer, Co-Writer and Editor will be on hand at Anthology Film Archives on January 11 for a Q & A following the 7pm screening to discuss dance within a narrative.  Karen, who was nominated for The ASE Best Editor Award in a Television Drama for Thursday's Fictions, will also be participating on a free panel composed of dancers who edit films, both commercial and independent, on January 9th, at 6pm, at the Donnell Media Center of the New York Public Library.

Taking advantage of Karen’s presence in New York, and her Doctoral degree in Editing, the Dance on Camera Festival is offering special mentoring sessions called “The Editing Doctor is In”, to which people can bring their works in progress for discussion, development and advice.
