Ganbu Gulin: Burndap neto! is an event for Darebin’s diverse communities to come together and celebrate the contemporary artistic practices of First Nations peoples across music and art. Translated from Woi-wurrung as ‘One Mob: Deadly, Now!’, Ganbu Gulin earmarks the evolution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts into contemporary practices that are bold, innovative and intrinsically collaborative.  

This year, the soulful, lush and empowering voice of MO’JU will transform the stage, while the local rock band Liv & The Dream will pick you up for the journey. MC Kimmie Lovegrove will bring her light-hearted warmth and ensure some laughs along the way. Elijah Money will lead a kids’ bracelet and charm making workshop, while Aunty Brenda returns with your favourite arts and crafts for the whole family. As part of our commitment to the local Aboriginal community, we will also be welcomed onto Wurundjeri Country with a Smoking Ceremony led by Uncle Bill Nicholson. A performance from intergenerational dance group the Djirri Djirri Dancers will encourage all attendees to connect with the land that we walk on.  

Ganbu Gulin: Burndap neto asks you to engage with the ever-growing and dynamic practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists across a range of mediums. An opportunity for community members, new and old, to gather, celebrate and to develop strong relationships and understanding of each other. As one Mob, we are Deadly, NOW!
