| SYDNEY CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL 2023...Universal Themes of Love, Loss & Belonging | | |
| |
SCMF Artistic Director Bridget Bolliger has curated these three music programs to tie in with art exhibitions by mother and daughter artists Heather and KateDorrough, who explore the female creative lineage, and Indonesian-born artist Jumaadi whose art explores themes of love, loss and belonging. The festival weekend begins with Sensory Concerts this year embracing music for families with sensory and additional needs, commonly associated with Autism, ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, physical and intellectual disabilities. The music is designed to calm the senses and contains evidence-based sensory-friendly musical elements. This concert will be presented by pianist and creative director Grace Kim, joined by cellist Teije Hylkema (Principal Cello, Opera Australia Orchestra) and Kees Boersma (Principal Double Bass, Sydney Symphony Orchestra).
