| Hannah (A Western-Sydney version of Hamlet) | | |
| |
An Australian Bastardisation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. “To die, to sleep - to sleep, maybe to dream. But there’s the catch: in death’s sleep who knows what kind of dreams we might have, after we’ve put the noise and turbulence of life behind us.” Young Hannah is visited by the ghost of her father who pleads with her to seek revenge on his murderer. A twisted tale of domestic violence, addiction and homophobia that ends in tragedy. GradCo.Studio return to Sydney Fringe Festival in 2018 with a new work devised and written by its members. We’ve taken the classic story of love and revenge and re-imagined it as a Western-Sydney family drama focused around a strong female hero. This thought-provoking piece really poses the question – is it better to be or not to be. Directed by Dale William Morgan with performances by Paris Change, Elsa Cherlin, Erin Cotton, Charlotte Day, Bernadette Fam, Sean Foster, Adam Golledge, Carita Gronroos and Elizabeth Nicholls. This new Australian work brings Western-Sydney into focus as GradCo.Studio re-imagine Shakespeare’s Hamlet as modern family drama. Tickets $20/$25 (available from www.gradco.studio)
