A Doll House, by Henrik Ibsen, presented by Bard On The Beach theatre company. In the male-dominated society of late 1900's Norway, Nora steps out from the fragile world she has created with her husband, a world as perfect and idyllic as a doll's house, and causes a wild and rapid storm of controversy with her actions. Her husband calls her 'his little lark'. But lark's inevitably want to be free.... Believed to be one of the greatest playwrights in theatre history, Henrik Ibsen's play, A Doll's House is seen by many as his greatest work. A NSW school English and Drama Curriculum, and recommended reading text, this beautifully tragic tale, seemed to foretell a future of independent thought for women. Presented by respected Shakespeare and the classics theatre company, Bard On The Beach, for school's and the general public in matinees and evening shows.
