Hosted by Unspoken Words, the storytelling collective, this session will kick off with some open mic slots, so be sure to come prepared with 2-5 minutes of your work to share! Limited signups at the door.

This session is part of Griffin Theatre Company's Batch Festival.

-----ARTISTS-----
Candy Royalle is one of Australia’s most prominent performing writers. She is a multi-award winning storyteller, activist, educator, singer and vulnerability advocate. As a multi-disciplinary artist, she collaborates with film makers, musicians, visual artists, dancers, photographers and others, to bring her work to life. Candy sits on the Advisory Council for Australian Poetry Limited and runs the successful monthly poetry night, Word in Hand.

Lizzy Jarrett is a sovereign warrior woman from the Gumbaynggirr, Bundjalung, Dunghutti clans and is a direct descendant of the original Stolen Generations. She now makes it her life duty to help advocate for her peoples' rights through activism, poetry, art, music and volunteering to community. She is a member of GMAR Sydney, an organisation that fights for the return and restoration of Aboriginal families that are still being torn apart by government policies.

Saba Vasefi is a poet, human rights activist, filmmaker and PhD candidate in feminist cinema studies. She is the director of the Sydney International Women’s Poetry & Arts Festival and the Diaspora Symposium. She is the recipient of the Premier’s Multicultural Medal for Art and Culture, an Edna Ryan Award for feminist debate and was a finalist in the Women’s Agenda Leadership Award.
