The Colour Orange: The Musical (Sideshow Festival)

Guess who's back? From the ashes of early 2000's Australian politics rises Senator Hanson - one woman, one party, One Nation. It's a pivotal time and Pauline has a big job ahead of her. Can she save our country from imminent destruction? Meeting a kooky collection of Australian icons and has-beens along the way, watch as Pauline takes to the stage and tells a classic rags to riches to rags to riches to rags tale, and asks the question: What does it mean to be a hero?

Following a successful run at the Sydney Fringe and a Critics' Pick Award, join the cast of The Colour Orange for an encore performance and a night of music and fun as we raise money to take Pauline on the road to the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

The script is based on a true story, although this dramatisation can feel somewhat contrived, with important assertions not interrogated, and credibility stretched as a result.

This Glass Menagerie is top shelf, and while blessed with an extraordinary cast and the highest of production values, it will not meet with everyone’s measure of how this play should be staged.

In the care of Pinchgut Opera’s director, Erin Helyard, this music, formulaic as it indeed is in some respects, sprang off the page into an experience rich in emotions.
