TEN distinct events have been added to the Blue Room’s current season to create an energizing two-week mini-festival; The Blue Room ViewFest, June 12-23.

ViewFest offers a rare opportunity to feast on a wide range of performance styles and genres from over 50 local and international artists at the Blue Room in a hectic eclectic ten night program of diverse and unique experiences.

TUESDAY June 12 6pm The Indeterminate Cat (or The Superposition of Power and Reason) Perth’s finest acting talents present a surreal and subversive expose of human nature provoked by fear, starvation and power in a reading of the latest work by local playwright Vivienne Glance.
WEDNESDAY June 13 8pm Zack Adams: Elevator [email protected]
Zack Adams presents a special edition of this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival smash with new songs, puppetry, ghosts, robots and special comedic guest stars.
THURSDAY June 14 8pm A Night Of Horror Short Film Festival
Direct from the festival’s inaugural screening in Sydney this year come eleven of the best and bloodiest international and Australian independent horror shorts.
‘Magic’ Matt Penny (think Tommy Cooper/Benny Hill) and the Copperfield-esque Chris Kenworthy compete Iron Chef style with illusions, gags, tricks and animated flicks.
SATURDAY June 16 8pm one night stand
Tomás Ford gives the audience a rest, inviting you to enjoy a night of electro cabaret featuring some insanely sweet disco beats with support from 80s synth kids Brash and Sassy.

TUESDAY June 19 6pm Ordinary Blokes by Lis Hoffmann
Jay Walsh plays the father of two very different brothers in this reading of a new play about family, favouritism, and how one restless woman changes the relationships between all three men.
WEDNESDAY June 20 7pm Across Hellfire Marathon    Strictly 18+
Filmed in an abandoned house, all six 30-min episodes of the hit anti-sitcom (first performed at the Blue Room in ’03) will screen after an introduction/Q&A/apology from writer/director Luke Milton.
THURSDAY June 21 6pm Angel Dreaming by Suzanne Ingelbrecht
Angel returns to prepare for sale her neglected former home after the death of its occupants in a reading of the new supernatural comedy drama from the award-winning writer of Fragmented.

‘Antipoet’ Allan Boyd with house musicians Mitey Ko showcase WA wordplayers and invite writers to take the stage in a night of spoken word performance presented by Openmouth Poetry.

Perth's favourite stand-up and improv comics spin the Wheel of Wit to determine which nuggets of comedy gold they'll deliver. How will it all pan out? Your laughter will decide.
