Healing Scars

Healing Scars, presented by Moogahlin Performing Arts, is a powerful new performance by Yuwalaaraay composer and performer Warren Mason, tracing the intergenerational journey of First Peoples healing from injustice.

Blending the natural sounds of Country, the haunting tones of Mason’s guitar, spoken word in multiple languages and the voices of Elders, Healing Scars creates a rich, immersive soundscape interwoven with choreography by Jasmine Gulash (Gubbi Gubbi) and Jo Clancy (Wiradjuri), tracing stories that connect past and present.

Raw, moving and deeply human, Healing Scars invites audiences into a cathartic journey of truth, healing and resilience – an unmissable work that honours survival, strength and the power of First Peoples storytelling.

Healing Scars was first developed during Yellamundie Festival 2023.
