Sarahtonin: not a self help comedy cabaret

"This world is F*@KED :). I need as much Sarahtonin as I can get."
Sarah has no idea what she is doing, but she is having fun figuring it out.
PSA: This is NOT a self help cabaret.

Sarahtonin. A 50-minute, one-woman comedy cabaret that tackles mental health, toxic positivity and the weird ways we try to feel good. It’s part jazzy musical comedy, part acoustic folk, and part unhinged TED Talk. Following an incredible sell out season at Fringe World in Feb, Sarah Bowers is bringing Sarahtonin to Gadigal, Sydney for its NSW premiere.

A beginners guide in... appreciating the simple moments, toxic positivity, 'touching grass' and how to truly find 'Sarahtonin' in our lives. It follows Sarah's tales of making friends wherever she goes, whether pashing randoms on planes, or French men in coffee shops.
Maybe we could all use a bit more Sarahtonin?

A gifted embroider of words, Friel combines soft lyricism and hard meaning in his play, a tragical comical historical pastoral on a spree and spoiling for a spirited spar.

The First Murder | Pinchgut Opera
In the care of Pinchgut Opera’s director, Erin Helyard, this music, formulaic as it indeed is in some respects, sprang off the page into an experience rich in emotions.

Iolanthe and Janet Anderson work in cosmic, comedic accord, characterisation charismatic, timing impeccable, delivery precise, together a tour de force that ascends the cliché.

Anastasia is a spectacle and the technical prowess is spectacular.
  • Gutenberg! The Musical
    Gutenberg! The Musical
As befitting a work honouring the inventor of the printing press, Gutenberg! The Musical! is enamoured of words, drunk on words, intoxicated with text, mad for the metaphor, passionate for the pun.

This is not your dear old Grandmother’s Hamlet, it is your drunk Uncle’s, who remembers every Monty Python episode by heart.
  • Heathers The Musical
    Heathers The Musical
Capturing the essence of its predecessor, Heathers The Musical is an absurdly comic production that doesn’t just walk the line of polite society but plans to blow it all up with reckless abandon.
  • Retrograde | Melbourne Theatre Company
    Retrograde | Melbourne Theatre Company
The script is based on a true story, although this dramatisation can feel somewhat contrived, with important assertions not interrogated, and credibility stretched as a result.
