
Madama Butterfly is a tragic love story, the tale of a naïve and romantic young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American sailor who betrays her.

The program notes said the show would be “Cheesy”. That could be said, but a better description would be “The perfect melt.”

I am an emotional creature: the secret life of girls is a relatively new offering from Eve Ensler, the writer behind the famous “Vagina Monologues”, and the worldwide V-Day campaign against violence and discrimination against women.

Cross Country / Cross Cultures was a short piece of theatre (25 minutes) but it packed a lot of punch. The eclectic cast of former refugees, migrants, first generation Australians and Indigenous Australians, were beautiful in their authenticity of presentation.

Because there was no programme or media release for Elegy, I cannot name the Actors, Director or Scriptwriter for this production. However I think, at this point, that’s a good thing because the show was quite drastically underdone.

Simon Coronel is an international award winning illusionist. He brings to the 2015 Perth Fringe – Glitches in Reality, version 2.0. It’s nothing short of mind-blowing.

Gorgeous design pays fitting tribute to the book, but this production’s ambitions exceed its reach.
