
Whilst the concert was a little on the short side, it made up for this in the quality of musicianship and commitment to the music.


If you walk straight into this show without doing any research beforehand, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve ended up at an amateur club night where a few of the fathers have got carried away and decided to get dressed up as women.

If you were wondering where your Mum was last night, chances are she was probably at Hamer Hall, watching one of Australia’s most famous bands.

Up Late with Andy & Adrian is clearly a piece for fans of the radio show. This is where I’m meant to say ‘don’t worry, you’ll still enjoy it if you’re not familiar with their radio gig’, but I can’t.

The tension in the tone of the work stems from its uneasy position between parody and sincerity.
