Greeking Out is a one-woman comedy show that’s giving... fictional standup meets masterclass meets party for Dionysus! The play begins and so does class. We’re greeted by Professor Ari who, in 60 minutes, will test the audience’s knowledge on Greek gods, Greek myths, and trifle (yes, the dessert!). Professor Ari’s unique insights into the Minotaur myth will reveal new information that has never been shared before... It’s just a class, right? So what could go wrong? Created and performed by theatre-maker Rebecca Perich, Greeking Out: Mythology 101 is a light-hearted comedy tackling an ancient myth that still resonates with contemporary audiences, and exemplifies how history is written by victors.... mostly, men. The script is based on a true story, although this dramatisation can feel somewhat contrived, with important assertions not interrogated, and credibility stretched as a result.
