What's On

Cabaret, Cocktails and Karaoke

Seymour presents a bold new monthly event, Cabaret, Cocktails and Karaoke, which makes its debut on Friday 29 May. Guests are invited into an intimate, high-energy experience where cabaret glamour meets audience participation, as the spotlight shifts from stage to crowd and anyone can take centre stage!

Conceived by Seymour’s Artistic Director Joanne Kee, the first half of the evening features a live cabaret showcase led by acclaimed performer Kimie Tsukakoshi (TV’s The Bureau of Magical Things and The Family Law), joined by a different lineup of exceptional Asian Australian guest artists each month. From comedians and musicians to the occasional wildcard, no two nights are the same!

May’s opening night will feature writer and comedian Jennifer Wong (ABC’s Chopsticks or Fork?), musical theatre performer Paul Leandre Escorrido (Hayes Theatre Company’s Once on the Island), and composer, vocalist and multi‑instrumentalist Jolin Jiang.

As the evening progresses, the format shifts. The stage opens, the lights soften, and karaoke takes centre stage. Guests are invited to take the mic and choose their anthem. Whether audiences take the stage or sit back and take it all in, this isn't a polished performance, it's a vibe, and you never know who might be in the crowd...

Directed by Monica Sayers, Cabaret, Cocktails and Karaoke offers more than a traditional night out. It’s an ever-evolving event where anything can happen.

Come for the show. Stay to let loose and have the best night out. Pick a song. Take the stage. And enjoy!
