What's On

Hush

In a world that hums with distraction, chamber music offers a rare invitation to pause, to look inwards. Karin Schaupp, “one of the world’s top classical guitarists” (The Australian), joins the Southern Cross Soloists (SXS) for a journey from dazzling light to calming night.

The program opens with electrifying dance tunes by Marin Marais and Isaac Albeniz. The program then transitions to night through famous songs by Schubert and Fauré, finding peace in music performed at the speed of the performers’ breath and heartbeat. As the sun prepares to set outside, Max Richter tucks the audience into bed, finding peace amid the hubbub.
