"NEVER TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL"

GREEKING OUT - MYTHOLOGY 101

It’s giving... masterclass meets standup meets party for Dionysus!

"Greeking Out - Mythology 101" is a new one-woman comedy show in a masterclass format. We’re greeted by Professor Ari who, in 60 minutes, will test the audience’s knowledge on Greek gods, Greek myths, and trifle (yes, the dessert!). Professor Ari’s unique techniques and insights into the Minotaur myth will reveal new information that has never been shared before...It’s just a class, right? So what could go wrong?

Created and performed by Rebecca Perich, "Greeking Out" is a light-hearted comedy tackling an ancient myth that still resonates with contemporary audiences, and exemplifies how history is written by victors.... mostly, men.

This production premiered at The Butterfly Club in February 2025 with a full house on closing night. Back by popular demand, the show will be performed as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival at a brand new black-box theatre: "SPIELHAUS" (next to Queen Victoria Markets) run by  The Motley Bauhaus.

Rebecca Perich is a tropicobalkankan theatre-maker and repressed academic born in Venezuela, raised by Croatians, and has recently become Australian.

REVIEW BY PRAISE DIONYSUS:

"God, I could not do university. Like, I really just could not do lectures. And then, I went to this show and I was like: Oh, if Prof. Ari was my lecturer, I could do.. University! (...) Rebecca is such a charming person to listen to talk about these things, and she clearly knows her stuff. And it's just such a joy (...) She had this energy of the sort of lecturer that would come in a movie and sort of turn the rough & crumble group of kids, turn their lives around, and by the end they'll be like: we're gonna miss you Prof. Ari"

AUDIENCE PRAISES:

  •  “I loved that rather than just telling the story, you made it thought-provoking and educational” - El.Mary
  • “I really hope you do more! As someone who was always OBSESSED with myth growing up, I’d love to see more dissections of the myth like that!!!! - James
