What's On

Aria

Ensemble Theatre is delighted to present the world premiere of Aria by David Williamson, one of Australia’s most prolific playwrights. An exploration of the rivalry inherent in every family, Aria is on from January 24th to March 15th 2025.

Notes of bitterness, love and rivalry reach a crescendo when 3 favourable sons, and 3 not-so favourable wives, reunite at Monique’s, the matriarch of the families, annual family gathering. What could possibly go wrong?

Secrets, resentment and dissonance continue to bubble as Monique takes the spotlight to perform her renowned opera aria, a not-so-subtle reminder of the dreams she sacrificed for her family.

This Glass Menagerie is top shelf, and while blessed with an extraordinary cast and the highest of production values, it will not meet with everyone’s measure of how this play should be staged.
