An Inspector Calls

A celebratory evening for the Birling family is interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious Inspector Goole. As an investigation unfolds, it is revealed that each family member played a part in the death a young woman. This classic play is a must-see for a whole new generation.

When Inspector Goole arrives unexpectedly at the prosperous Birling family home, their peaceful dinner party is shattered by his investigations into the death of a young woman named Eva Smith.  His startling revelations shake the very foundations of their lives and challenge us all to examine our consciences.  The play veers from a typical “who done it” to exploring the deeper question of “what did it”.  Priestley critiques the selfishness and moral indifference of the upper class, urging audiences to reflect on their responsibilities towards others as it is revealed how each of the players contributed to another’s tragic end. More relevant now than ever, this classic play is a must-see for a whole new generation.
