Embrace

You do not want to miss the show of the year! InsideOutside Dance, the leading Australian    dance school for people with disabilities takes to the stage this October at the ‘Brisbane Fringe Festival’.

Rosanne Stuart Co-owner of InsideOutside has written and directed a new theatre project ‘Embrace’. The production stars several talented artists of the dance company and aims to thoroughly entertain while providing its performers with new opportunities supporting their career growth in the professional arts industry.

InsideOutside’s ambassador and co-owner is Australian international model Madeline Stuart.  Madeline took the world by storm by being the first international supermodel with Down syndrome. Madeline loves dancing, and opened the dance company with Rosanne six years ago to provide people with disabilities the same dance opportunities as everyone else, something that has been significantly lacking in society for a long time. InsideOutside launched in 2016 due to a lack of mainstream dance schools catering for people with disabilities. However, their goals have shifted beyond just dance which led them to the launch of ‘Embrace’.

The show’s cast is 9 students from InsideOutside Dance, Madeline Stuart, Kala, Jade, Saara, Shoni, Jess, Trent, Denzel and Charlie. All students have varying disabilities including Down syndrome, ASD, Turner syndrome, intellectual disability, vision impairment or are legally blind. The production follows the journey of these 9 individuals as they navigate the difficult challenges that people with disabilities are faced with in the real world. The production is a rollercoaster of emotions, similar to the experience of life with a disability; you will be laughing, crying, uplifted, and motivated for change by the end of the show! The hilarious and thought provoking script has been paired with outstanding chorography from chorographers Nick Maguire and Shane Dechavez.

InsideOutside won the residency program with Fringe Festival Brisbane and will be performing their show October 28th & 29th at 6pm, 4th November at 6pm and 5th November at 8pm. Come with us on the emotional ride that is life, relive your youth, understand loneliness and isolation, while celebrating hope and embrace the future. Do not miss the opportunity to see this meaningful performance before ‘Embrace’ tours internationally next year; you will want to be the first to see it!
