What's On

Elektra (Richard Strauss)

Based on the tragedy by Sophocles, Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s Elektra remains one of the greatest operas in the Western canon.

Elektra yearns to avenge the murder of her father, King Agamemnon. Her brother, Orest, returns to cleanse the palace of its evil. Elektra’s journey to catharsis is one of the great trajectories of character in operatic literature.

Revered dramatic soprano Catherine Foster stars in the title role alongside a stellar Australian cast.
