The JOLT Sonic Festival

Introducing Melbourne’s response to the lack of diversity in curation: JOLT Sonic Festival 2019.

JOLT Sonic Festival brings 2019 brings together people of all abilities and aims to give as many diverse artists as possible the opportunity to contribute to an event unlike any other in the country.

The JOLT Sonic Arts Festival celebrates the audacious auditory exploits of Melbourne’s sonic music adventurers. Having spent ten years circumnavigating the cutting edge JOLT Arts now runs festivals spanning Europe and Asia. Consistently bypassing banality this year’s JOLT Sonic Arts Festival is embracing its decennial with a festival curated by a range of artists including The Amplified Elephants, The BOLT Ensemble and Strange James. The Amplified Elephants are spectacular sound artists with intellectual disabilities and testify to the essence of JOLT’s vision; celebrating inclusive innovation and providing opportunities for aurally arresting pioneers of the performing arts. Championing challenges against convention the JOLT Sonic Arts Festival is a critical constellation of the contemporary and Australia’s cultural zeitgeist.
