Apocalypse Theatre Company, in association with Red Line Productions at the Old Fitz Theatre, presents

ANGELS IN AMERICA

1. PT. I & II

by Tony Kushner

Directed by Dino Dimitriadis

“An unparalleled depiction of the modern American soul in all its striving, suffering, and chaotic contradiction.” - Vulture

2018 Sydney Theatre Award Winner for Best Director of an Independent Production, Dino Dimitriadis (Metamorphoses, Doubt) directs this Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning masterpiece.

Featuring an incredible ensemble cast of Joseph Althouse, Catherine Davies, Maggie Dence, Ben Gerrard, Jude Gibson, Ashley Lyons, Gus Murray and Timothy Wardell, Angels In America has been reimagined for the intimate confines of the Old Fitz Theatre as part of 2018 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Set in a turbulent New York City in the mid-1980s, the drama follows the interconnected lives of various New Yorkers affected by issues of the day including the conservative Reagan administration, AIDS, religious bigotry, angst about their sexuality - and miraculous spiritual visitations.

This fierce and astounding two-part drama is an epic exploration of politics, gay identity, and mythology, and a personal story of love and loyalty.
