Anya Anastasia: The Executioners

Gasworks Arts Park presents, as a part of the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Festival

Anya Anastasia: The Executioners

We’re coming for you.

Award-winning chanteuse Anya Anastasia brings a fierce, fresh, and tightly choreographed new breed of contemporary comedy cabaret to the stage this Melbourne Fringe. Running at Gasworks Arts Park from the 18th of the 29th of September, The Executioners cuts close to the bone as Anastasia dismembers the world's political and social current affairs.

Alongside musical-partner-in-crime, Gareth Chin, Anastasia stalks the 21st century landscape, launching thrilling attacks on ecological screw ups, techno obsessives, and self-congratulatory slacktivist keyboard warriors. This hard-hitting and hilarious show articulates the social discomfort and disconnect that now reigns supreme. It's time to unleash the fury.

Anya Anastasia: The Executioners is a digitally enhanced millennial neo-cabaret that cuts right to the (funny) bone.

And yes, there is a fight scene.

A sassy cabaret chanteuse with a vivid and somewhat twisted imagination, Anya Anastasia has traversed the globe with her original songs and bold performance pieces, appearing at festivals in Europe, around Australia, and New Zealand. Nominated for Best Music (Dunedin Fringe) and Spirit of the Fringe Award (Prague Fringe), other works include Tort e Mort, Rogue Romantic, The Upside Down Girl, The Bird Wizdom Cabaret and Violet Rapscallion: A Stray Cabaret.

Written and composed by Anya Anastasia and Gareth Chin
Sound design by Lucian McGuiness
Choreography by Team Yas Action and Sue Broadway
Projections by Chris Bennett of Underground Media
Lighting Design by Mark Oakley
