Dimity Smyth is Dead

The University Dramatic Society is proud to present our semester two drama, "Dimity Smyth is Dead".

Dimity Smyth is dead. Or she will be.

You know her. You’ve read the stories of the famous detective who never left a mystery unsolved, never a cell vacant, a quip unspoken. Now the heroes and villains of these legends have been summoned together by some disturbing news.

They each hold their own vendetta against our hero. There’s the cult leader obsessed with population control, the police officer Smyth refused to help, and the arch-nemesis who has been simmering in a gaol cell for decades.

Each comes to the house with a different, destructive secret held close to their hearts, only to find supper is said secrets served on a silver dish.

As these volatile characters find themselves trapped under one roof, hoping desperately to escape with their dignity and their revenge, they are given only one way to secure their freedom: kill Dimity Smyth.

And what of Dimity herself? Well, she’s the one who invited them, of course.

Featuring a cast of young performers from around Perth, 'Dimity Smyth is Dead' is a murder mystery turned on its head and then decapitated.

It’s not a question of “whodunnit”, but rather, “who will do it?”
