THE DUMB WAITER

What’s On? Production Company proudly presents…

In association with Leftfield Props Locker, LPL Group Pty Ltd, Moving Light Productions and Chapel off Chapel…

The Dumb Waiter.
A play by Harold Pinter.

“Small but perfectly formed, The Dumb Waiter might be considered the best of Harold Pinter’s early plays.”

“The Dumb Waiter is Pinter distilled…”

In a dank and dark basement room, Gus and Ben wait for their next hit job. They’ve been working together for quite some time and have their routine down to an efficient art-form. But there’s something different about this job. As increasingly bizarre orders begin to be sent down via the basement’s dumbwaiter and the tension between the two men builds, it becomes clear that things are not as they appear.

One of Harold Pinter’s most famous works, The Dumb Waiter is a darkly funny and terrifically suspenseful play that reveals Pinter’s skill for crafting unique and engaging theatre. Taut and tense, The Dumb Waiter continues to offer new insights into human nature and the way in which the individual is complicit in society’s darker impulses.

Starring two of Australia’s favourite actors! Gold Logie Award Winner, John Wood in the role of Ben and the incredible Don Bridges in the role of Gus.
