"Have you ever, ever felt like this ...?"

This adaptation of the Australian children's classic, Round the Twist, brings to life all the forgotten whimsy, wonder and often worrisome smells of the Twist family who escape the city to settle in the old lighthouse on the shores of Port Niranda.

A relatively small stage space to work with, the scene was set with a series of electric backdrops that would rival any Monty Python set design team! Complete with an unflappable ensemble working together seamlessly to make all the stories come to life in one linear feast of fun (the foul jokes and ridiculous songs) this theatrical event, in relation to the original series, is based on the ridiculous workings of none other than the beloved Paul Jennings.

Whether you're an old fan or a new recruit, the cast and crew truly made the show such a nostalgic treat for all attending. With a hilarious take on the resident 'baddies', the role of Harold Gribble (David James) puts our own well-known bullies to shame: the Gribble-gang of the lip-puckering Gribble Jnr (Nick Van Lits); Rabbit (Carlo Boumouglby) and Tiger (Carla Beard) adapted to reflect the contemporary small-town-teen-bully (we all knew one) all bound with an operatic twist from Mrs. Gribble (Tarita Bostman) just for an extra layer of ridiculous-ness!

Another notable mention to many of the cast members for the ability to switch through multiple roles and trick the audience each time with a quick costume change.

Twist twin-siblings Linda (Charly Oakley) and poor Pete (Hanlon Innocent) who graced the stage "without my pants" were spectacular, however the most honourable mention is most definitely given to the pint-sized powerhouse Edison Ai, whose role of Bronson was so spot on, every whiff on stage was greeted with roaring applause. "UP THE PONG!"

Steeped in silliness and the ever-fun Aussie attitude, this theatre event is for families and fans of all ages. As a matter of fact, if you were to miss this opportunity to see strange things happen, you'd be going round the twist ...
