Melbourne Recital Centre Chief Executive Officer Jacques de Vos Malan yesterday announced the successful tenders for two of the centre’s key operating systems which are now being installed. Tessitura Software™ is providing the ticketing/CRM system and Artifax is providing the venue management software.
Tessitura Software™ is used by over 225 theatres, performing arts centres, museums, symphony orchestras, ballet companies, operas, festivals and arts consortia around the world. Initially developed by the Metropolitan Opera for its own use in 1998, Tessitura Software now powers small, medium and large arts and cultural organisations in five countries with ticketing, fundraising, marketing, CRM (customer relationship management) and advanced reporting capabilities. It provides comprehensive real-time internet transaction capability for ticket selling, donations, memberships, select-your-own-seats, email deployment and much more. Australian license holders include Melbourne Theatre Company, The Australian Ballet, Opera Australia, Sydney Opera House, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra and others.
Artifax is a leading provider of venue management software to the performing arts for concert halls and theatres, museums and galleries, public and educational facilities and conference centres. Artifax Event has become the industry standard for performing arts centres and is used by over 400 organisations worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall and Sydney’s Angel Place.
“In calling for tenders, we sought the world’s best available systems and we are satisfied that we now have them,” said Dr de Vos Malan. “Both systems are used by some of the finest international venues. We know that our customers will love the new flexibility offered by Tessitura, and our hirers will appreciate Artifax and our ability to provide information needed for performances and services of the highest standard.”
