Guy to present at CMAA Music Awards

The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) announces the newest performer and presenter for the 36th CMAA Music Awards: Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian. Guy will be joining the performing ranks along with Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan one of the most respected, popular and influential Australian singer/songwriters, and Steve Forde, hot off the release of his first self-titled album.

Guy has just released his 4th studio album, The Memphis Album, recorded at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis with members of the original in-house Stax Band and MG’s. The Stax Record Label started out originally as a country music label more than 50 years ago and eventually, due to its geographical position, turned into the birth place of American soul music putting out records by Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, Al Green and Otis Reading.

Guy will then swap his performing boots for his presenting ones, as he joins Georgie Parker on stage, who is hosting the awards again this year.

Now in its 36th year, the CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia is Australia’s longest running music awards event, and 2008 promises to be bigger than ever. Many of this year’s finalists will be directly involved as either performers or presenters on the night.
