Gala

From the lush colours of Delibes’ ‘Flower Duet’ from Lakme to Tchaikovsky’s iconic Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker, celebrate Valentine’s Day with some the most romantic music ever written in this magical Gala concert by the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.  Experience the passion of Bizet’s Carmen, the yearning of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, the effervescent joy of Strauss’s Presentation of the Rose and the gentle peace of the Evening Prayer from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, in this stunning bouquet of vocal highlights led by Guy Noble and showcasing the incredible talents of Pacific Opera’s rising stars. At the centre of the program is a beautiful new work by Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s composer-in-residence, Alice Chance. What better way to celebrate the re-emergence of live music in 2021?
