Sydney Film-Music Festival

MJR Presents welcomes the first annual Sydney Film Music Festival, a unique film and music experience kicking off on October 13 at the ICC Sydney Theatre. Across three nights, audiences will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a selection of cinematic masterpieces, with their iconic scores performed by a live symphonic orchestra.

On Friday October 13, the festival celebrates the 50 years of Star TrekTM with “ ‘The Ultimate Voyage,” bringing together music and vision from the franchise’s extensive film and TV history, including pieces from Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and more. This concert event is perfect for music lovers, filmgoers, science-fiction fans and anyone looking for an exciting audio-visual feast, celebrating the marriage of film and music.

Saturday October 14 brings an iconic Hans Zimmer film score to life as Gladiator takes audiences to new heights of emotion played as a full orchestral experience. Those who witnessed Zimmer’s recent critically acclaimed shows in Australia will be overwhelmed by the opportunity to see his iconic Oscar-winning score played in full alongside Ridley Scott’s finest cinematic masterpiece.

Sunday October 15 provides a feast for families with Dreamworks Animation In Concert playing iconic movie moments from hit films including Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and many more. With composers including Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, Harry Gregson-Williams and more, the Sydney Film Music Festival brings together the symphony orchestra and one of the biggest HD screens in Sydney to delight surprise and move both adults and children alike.

A celebration of music and its role in cinema, the Sydney Film Music Festival creates a unique three-night experience with tickets available separately or to all three events.
