DAAS Kapital DVD Launch | Doug Anthony All StarsThey promised they would never sing together and like all good promises, they lied. Back together in the flesh for the first time since 2008, the troublesome trio of Tim Ferguson, Paul McDermott and Richard Fidler joined forces to officially launch the DAAS Kapital DVD.

The series, which premiered on the ABC in 1991 and ran for two 7-episode seasons was not critically well received but has since gained a cult following. So much so, the trio had to move from their initial 20-seat room to the Main Hall at the Melbourne Town Hall.

Joined by Paul Livingstone, (better know as Flacco) Khym Lam and creative genius, the great and powerful OZ, producer Ted Robinson, the team showed clips from the DVD, and kept the crowd entertained with their many disastrous tales of destruction.

Cockroaches that would rather commit suicide than work on the show, flame-throwers that would be better left at home and a staple gun to the head were some of the more memorable calamities that befell the All Stars throughout the series.

And yes, they sang. After protesting it wasn’t going to happen, the All Stars were as vocally brilliant as ever. It was a joy to see them in the same room again, like old friends who regardless how long it has been always have something to laugh about.
